Karachi: The reports of grouping in Pakistan women’s team have been confirmed after a recent meeting in Karachi became a battlefield, ARY News reported.
A meeting was called yesterday by chief selector Urooj Khan where PCB CEO Wasim Khan was also present
According to details, Wasim opined that there will be no increments and hike in salaries as the Girls in Green are not winning.
On the other hand, players have expressed distrust towards captain Javeria Khan. Senior player Nida Dar called Javeria for doing injustice during the meeting.
“Captain is not happy with players’ performance. I scored fifty during an ODI against South Africa where she told players not to applaud for me,” Nida said.
“Seems like there is grouping in the team where captain only talks to few players,” wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz said.
Meanwhile, Javeria also expressed her resentment towards the players during the meeting. At one stage, Nida tried to forget all the things of the past and went to Javeria. She tried to shake hands but Javeria in anger, didn’t move forward and went away.
Chief selector Urooj intervened and cleared the arguments. She urged players to play as a team.
It must be noted that Pakistan women’s team traveled to West Indies where they played three T20Is and five ODIs. They were clean swept in T20Is while they lost the ODI series by 3-2.
