RAWALPINDI: Northern bowlers held Balochistan tight from the very start as they managed to score 139-7 in 20 overs in the National T20 Cup opener.
Sent into bat first, Balochistan kept losing wickets after regular intervals. Skipper Imam-ul-Haq left them earlier after being deceived by Sohail Tanvir in the first over of the inning.
Abdul Wahid Banglazai and Bismillah Khan followed their skipper after adding 24 and 10 runs respectively to their team’s total. 39-years-old Akbar-ur-Rehman played slowly and scored run-a-ball 24.
Amad Butt (34) and Kashif Bhatti (24) rescued Balochistan to 139-7 in 20 overs. They both scored 66 runs together for the sixth wicket.
Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Rauf bagged two wickets each while Sohail and Zaman Khan shared a wicket apiece for Northern.
