‘Money Talks’ Australia’s Usman Khawaja supports Pakistan

BRISBANE: Australia’s opening batter Usman Khawaja put weight on the continuation of international cricket in Pakistan.

In a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Usman said nobody would say no to India if they are in the same sort of situation because they have money.

“I feel it’s very easy for players and organisations to say no to Pakistan, because it’s Pakistan,” Khawaja said. “I think the same thing would apply too, if it were Bangladesh. But nobody would say no to India, if they’re in the same situation.

“Money talks, we all know that, and that’s probably a big part of it. They keep proving time and time again through their tournaments that they’re a safe place to play cricket. I think there’s no reason why we shouldn’t go back,” he added.

It must be noted here that New Zealand withdrew from the Pakistan tour at the very last moment. The cancelation of the tour by Kiwis was followed by England who withdrew their men’s and women’s teams from the Pakistan tour, which was scheduled in mid-October this year.
