RAWALPINDI: Leg-spinner Usman Qadir is trying to gain as much as he can from the interim coach of the Pakistan team Saqlain Mushtaq who was one of the great spinners of his time.
While sharing his thoughts in a video shared by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Usman said Saqlain’s presence in the dressing room is an opportunity for spinners to learn the art of spin from him.
“I am trying to make the most of the presence of Saqlain in the dressing room. I, Shadab Khan, and Zahid Mahmood are making plans for us and training hard with him for the series,” he said.
Also, Usman tries to take help from skipper Babar Azam where and when needed. “I always try to be close to Babar and learn from him. He is a good cricketer and his experience is worthful,” he mentioned.
Speaking about the ODI series against New Zealand, Usman said the team is confident to take the benefit of home conditions. “Our preparations are in full swing. We are aiming for a competent series and win it by taking advantage of home conditions,” he concluded.
