KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team’s chief selector Mohammad Wasim said that Azam Khan is currently the best striker in the world.
Speaking in ARY News show ‘11th Hour‘, Wasim said that the wicket-keeper batsman and son of former Test cricketer Moin Khan has an edge over other Pakistani batters as a striker.
“Azam has currently the best strike rate in Pakistan. He plays spinners too good and has a strong strike rate than any other batter in the world,” he said.

The host Wasim Badami asked the chief selector whether Azam’s average is a concern for them or not so he said, “Average doesn’t matter of a middle-order batsman, strike rate does.”
It must be noted here that Azam was named in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad as backup wicket-keeper. Former captain and experienced wicket-keeper, Sarfaraz Ahmed was dropped from the team without getting a proper chance during the last couple of years.
