Wahab Riaz bowls most expensive spell of his T20 career

BASSETERRE: Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz made headlines after he bowled the most expensive spell of his T20 career in the third match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021. 

Wahab, who is representing St Lucia Kings in this year’s event, conceded 61 runs in just three overs without taking a wicket. He was smashed by Andre Russell for 32 runs in the 19th overs as the latter completed his 50 in just 14 balls.

Russell led Jamaica Tallawahs to 255-5 in 20 overs. Another Pakistan participant in the league, Haider Ali contributed worthy runs for his team Tallahwahs. He scored 45 runs off 33 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.

Usman Qadir, also representing Kings in the third match, conceded 38 runs in three overs.

On the other hand, other Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir and Azam Khan performed decently for their franchise Barbados Royals against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Azam scored handy 28 runs laced with three sixes whereas Amir took a wicket and conceded 20 runs in his four overs.
