Pakistan’s active Covid-19 cases cross 1,200 mark

ISLAMABAD: The number of Covid-19 active cases in Pakistan has crossed the 1,200 mark, ARY News reported on Tuesday, quoting health sources. 

According to figures released by the sources within NIH said Pakistan’s active Covid-19 cases currently stand at 1,243, while over 1.5 million people have recovered from the deadly virus.

The recovery ratio from Covid-19 in Pakistan is 98pc, the sources said adding as many as 1,214 people are still under quarantine across the country.

The sources said 637 people are quarantined in Sindh, 240 in Punjab, 106 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 188 in Islamabad, Balochistan 3, while 13 people are quarantined in Gilgit Baltistan.

Furthermore, three people in Pakistan are currently on ventilators.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) last week, recommended wearing masks at crowded and tightly enclosed spaces and healthcare facilities.

According to NCOC, guidelines were issued for the period up to April 30, 2023, keeping in view the current Covid-19 trend across the country.
