Ramiz refuses to answer on T20 World Cup squad changes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s chairman Ramiz Raja said he will not talk about changes in the national team for T20 World Cup.

While talking to the media on Thursday, Ramiz said he is excited about the mega event and hopes that the national team will do wonders.

“I will not talk about changes. I am looking forward to the event and I hope Pakistan will play strongly in the event,” he said.

“It’s not about any particular match. I am excited about the whole world cup. Yes, Pakistan vs India is always a much-awaited contest,” he responded.

Meanwhile, in his appearance before Senate Committee, PCB chairman briefed on his plans to make cricket financially strong in the country.

“We need to change the whole system. We need to make things financially strong for us,” Ramiz told the committee.

“India is playing a major role in getting revenue for ICC. We get fundings from ICC, which means we are also running our things with Indian money,” the chairman added.

Ramiz said domestic cricket needs to be strong in Pakistan. “We increased players’ salary up to one lac. We aim to give 40 lacs each to players in domestic cricket yearly. I hope no player will be forced to do odd jobs to meet their ends,” he concluded.
