MUSCAT: United States of America (USA)’s Jaskaran Malhotra became the only second batter in the world, after South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs, to hit six sixes in an over in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
In an ODI against Papua New Guinea today (Sept 9), Malhotra smashed right-arm medium pacer Gaudi Toka for six maximums in 50th over of the game. His blistering knock drove the USA to 271/9 in given overs.
Also, Malhotra smashed the first ODI century from the USA. He scored 173 runs off 124 balls laced with four boundaries and 16 maximums.
Gibbs achieved this record against Netherlands’ spinner Daan van Bunge ICC World Cup 2007.
