Pakistan’s table tennis contingent out from Asian championship’s team event after delay in NOC

Karachi: Pakistan Table Tennis contingent has received a late Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and are now out of ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championship’s team event in Doha, Qatar.

Earlier, Pakistan Table Tennis Federation couldn’t arrange a flight for contingent on time as there were no available.

They will now leave on September 29. They will now only participate in singles and doubles events. They will start their campaign from October 1 after finishing their quarantine.

The championship is scheduled to start on September 28. The players who were named in the NOC are; Mohammad Rameez, Fahad Khawaja, Mohammad Shah Khan, Mohammad Asim Qureshi, Mohammad Bilal Yasin, Perniya Zaman, Haiqa Hasan, Sanam Yasin, Sana Muzaffar, and Ayesha Khan.

Ahmed Nawaz Khan will head the Pakistan contingent alongside female coach Asma Shahzadi. The whole squad is yet to undergo COVID-19 testing.

It must be noted here that this event will also serve as the qualification for the 2022 World Team Championship.
