LAHORE: Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis left their respective national team’s coaching roles after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) failed to address their reservations, sources told ARY News.
According to the sources, Misbah and Waqar shared their concerns with the PCB after their suggestions were ignored in the team’s selection for T20 World Cup.
PCB had already decided to remove Misbah and Waqar after the World Cup. But, they both resigned just weeks before the mega event.
Bringing it into your account, Pakistan are lined up to play three ODIs and five T20Is against New Zealand at home from September 17. Abdul Razzaq and Saqlain Mushtaq have been appointed as interim coaches for this series.
Later on, the Green shirts will play two home T20Is against England before going into the T20 World Cup. PCB will announce the new permanent head coach in due course.
