RAWALPINDI: Central Punjab (CP)’s bowlers outclassed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to hand their team solid revenge in National T20 Cup.
KPK were bowled out for 128 while chasing 172 runs as CP wrapped 43 runs victory in the eighth match of the tournament.
Set to chase the target, KPK’s Sahibzada Farhan resisted with his 34 runs knock followed by Mohammad Wasim with as many runs in the contest. Farhan smashed three boundaries and a six whereas Wasim struck three boundaries and as many sixes.
Wahab Riaz bowled a splendid spell taking three wickets and conceding 21 runs in three overs. Faheem Ashraf, Ehsan Adil, Hasan Ali, Hussain Talat, and Qasim Akram shared a wicket apiece.
Earlier, Hussain smoked 51 runs off 26 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes to push his team to score 171-6 in 20 overs. Opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad scored 40 runs off 36 balls including four boundaries and a six. Mohammad Akhlaq and Shoaib Malik made 24 runs each for CP.
For KPK, Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged two wickets while Arshad Iqbal, Wasim, Asif Afridi, and Israrullah took a wicket each.
