Afghanistan women’s footballers reach Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan women’s football team, players’ families and coaches have reached Lahore on Wednesday. 

Federal Minister for Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry shared on Twitter that the players, coaches, and their families have been received by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) here on Wednesday.

“We welcome Afghanistan Women football team they arrived at Torkham Border from Afghanistan. The players were in possession of valid Afghanistan passports, Pakistan visa. They were received by Nouman Nadeem of PFF,” he wrote.

As many as 115 visas were given by Pakistan. In first phase, 79 Afghani footballers, coaches and their families reached Pakistan. The rest of the people will come in the second phase.

The Afghani players have been given residence facility here at FIFA House. PFF’s president, Ashfaq Hussain ensured complete facilities to them.
