Karachi: Former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has named Pakistan captain Babar Azam as one of the players who have played him better.
Speaking in a recent interaction on ESPNCricinfo, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra asked Muralitharan to name few players from the modern era who could have read his variations. He also named Indian captain Virat Kohli.
“Kohli would have been tough as he is a good player of spin,” Murali said. “Babar Azam, I’ve never seen but looks like one of the better players because he is from the subcontinent,” he added.
It must be noted that Muralitharan is the all-time leading wicket-taker as he is the only bowler to take 800 test wickets and 530+ ODI wickets.
